Today's first attempt at running in over two weeks went well. I just wanted to get through a couple miles with no pain and did 2 out and back in about 16 mins. Not fast, but no pain whatsoever. I am going to continue the ibuprofen for a little while longer while I get back into the groove, but I am optimistic that the damage is healed.
Listened to more of Episode 182 of FDip about Running Legend Jacqueline Gareau and astonished at the story of she-who-shall-not-be-named stealing the laurel wreath in the 1980 Boston Marathon. If you've never heard the story, Steve does a great job of summing it up.
This week then, the plan is to get base miles going again. Probably just 2 a day before work and maybe a 6-ish run on the weekend and a crosstraining day.
